Can’t attach files in gmail android

There is a problem with my Gmail app. It crashes every time I try to attach a file. I am just looking to attach normal jpg files that are not too big. Please suggest some troubleshooting measures.

  1. it seems that Google has identified the issue as not a service outage but only service interruption. Though there is an outage and some in social media claim to send gmails with attachments, still until 1:30 PM, the issue exists. The best alternative for the Gmail users is to copy-paste the file in the mail and send it to the receiver.

  5. Compress the attachment. The most common reason that an attachment won’t send is that it is too big. These limits are set by whoever you use for email, whether it’s an email account through your ISP or through an online provider like Yahoo or GMail. … If you are sending multiple attachments, try sending one at a time
